Three Truths and a Lie

Are you in the fight yet sis?

Have you stepped into the ring?

Are you dangerous yet?

If you’re not sure what I am talking about, read Part 1 and Part 2 first.

Yesterday I shared that I recently stepped into the ring of my life with my opponent after discovering some truths he had been trying to hide from me for many years.

Today I want to share some truths with you that you need to know as you are becoming your best self right now in your season of waiting. These truths will also help you to fight through to get to the purpose and things God is calling you to do in this season.

Truth #1

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
    Before you were born I set you apart
    and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” ~Jeremiah 1:5

This means that God called you and knew who you would be and what you would do. Before you were even created, He had set you apart and given you a purpose.

Let’s put this in context a bit. God told this to Jeremiah who was called, as a little boy, for a purpose. I am not saying that your purpose is to be a prophet to the nations (but it could be).

What I do know is that God has called you to do something bold for Him, to do something-NOW-even while you are waiting for the next season in your life to happen.

There is something you were placed on this earth to do-something He knew about and set apart for you to do even before He created you. He has appointed you for something bigger than you.

Since you were created On purpose, For purpose and With purpose, there is one who is not happy. His name is satan and he would very much like it if you never discovered the purpose for which you were created-the very thing you were called and set apart in this earth to do.

Oh, but I have great news for you sis.

Truth #2

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. ~Ephesians 6:13-18 (NLT)

If you are going to fight through to keep moving forward and become the woman God has called you to be, you have to come dressed to fight with the whole armor so that you can resist the enemy.

Don’t get in the ring if you do not have on every piece of the armor. The victory was already won at the cross, but you have to remember that our enemy has been at this thing for longer than you and I. You can’t take him on unless you are fully equipped.

Truth #3

I am confident that the Creator, who has begun such a great work among you, will not stop in mid-design but will keep perfecting you until the day Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King, returns to redeem the world. ~Philippians 1:6 (The Voice)

This great work that He began in you, this purpose that He decided long before you were created or formed in your mother’s womb, He is faithful to complete it in you.

As you continually and actively seek Him daily-through the trials, through the valleys, on the mountaintop, in the hard times- He will uncover that purpose for you.

He will begin connecting the dots for you.

The Lie & The Choice

Perhaps you have heard one of these lies the enemy has been telling from the beginning:

• You don’t have a purpose.
• You were a mistake.
• You aren’t loved.
• You weren’t chosen.
• You aren’t good enough.
• You are a failure.
• God is holding back from you
• God will never forgive you.

My dear sister, you have a choice.

You can choose to believe those lies and let him win in your life or you can choose to be free and fight forward.

You can choose to continue going on with business as usual or you can become dangerous and a threat to the kingdom of darkness. (Don’t worry. You have all of heaven backing you.)

Christ has already set us free if we have accepted Him as our Savior. Yet, every day, with every decision we make, as we wait, we have to choose to stay free and keep walking in our freedom.

A part of that freedom involves walking fully as the woman He has created us to be and doing the things-the purpose-He has called us and appointed us to do. You decide.

Reflection:

• Go through your life story and reflect on everything that has ever happened to you-the good and the bad. Take note of the circumstances beyond your control, the defining moments, painful memories, any events that shaped the person who you are now, your interests as a child and the areas others have affirmed you or told you that you do well.
• Ask the Lord to help you connect the dots. You will begin to discover that everything had purpose. Interwoven within the very fabric of your life story is a roadmap to your purpose.
• Let the words of this song sink into your heart.
