Are you ready for 2017?
The real question should be, “Is 2017 ready for you?”
I recently celebrated a birthday and I can truly say that the older I get, the more grateful I am not for the things I get to do on my birthday or the gifts I may receive, but for those I get to share it with.
My “new year” started on December 20th, when I turned 35. It seems so weird even typing it, but I am thankful to see this age.
My life isn’t what I expected or planned. I have had to mourn some things, yes, and some prayers have not been answered (as of yet), but…
I am blessed…beyond measure and truly undeserving.
I have everything I need. I have rich, fruitful and healthy relationships. I have traveled to beautiful places, done things I would have never dreamed of, taken risks and seized many moments.
I have been living my life, not just merely existing.
I haven’t allowed the things I have been waiting on to hinder me from becoming God’s best right NOW, in every area of my life. Yet, there is still much work to be done.
I am blessed because I still choose to believe.
I choose to believe like Mary, an engaged, virgin woman, who was told she would be giving birth to a miracle, the Savior of our world.
And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord. ~Luke 1:45
That very environment would be tough for the average person to believe. I mean, let’s think about it. What if someone came to you and told you they were going to give birth to a baby, but was still claiming to be a virgin?
You probably would be thinking, “Girl, stop playing. That’s not possible.”
It’s downright crazy, right?
Yet, that is how the Lord operates.
Are you crazy enough to continue to believe Him and what He has spoken in and to you even though you have yet to see a fulfillment of it manifested in the natural?
What about the things you have been waiting for? Will you still believe that He can do it?
As you step into 2017 or whenever your “new year” begins, remember that you are already blessed, not because of what you have, but simply for believing in the God who has spoken to you.
Let’s wait with anticipation for the fulfillment of what has been spoken to us by the Lord.
Let’s walk into 2017 with full confidence in the One whose Word does not return to Him void.
Let’s continue to worship the One who is still sovereign and so truly desires to give us the things we have been waiting for… and even better!
Such a powerful message! I, too, will wait patiently for God in all things. He is a man of his word. Just when you’ve prayed and cried for the umpteenth time, and it seems like there’s little hope of a breakthrough, he reminds you that he’s at work. That has been my testimony for 2016. I’m grateful to have a direct line to him, and I can call anytime I like. Happy New Year, Sis. Love you! ❤

I am so grateful that He continually sends us these little reminders, which help to reinforce our hope and faith that He has heard us and is working. Love you too and as always, thanks for reading!
