In the last couple of days and just today alone, I have seen several messages from believers, men and women of God, about being tired, weary and worn. In the midst of all that is going on in our country and our world, this is completely understandable.
I, too, have been a bit weary and worn these last few days. In the midst of my fight to continue coming to Jesus and sitting at His feet where I draw my strength, I want to encourage YOU, whoever you are, that is reading this post. I want to pray this over you.
Whether you know Jesus as your personal Savior or not, I cover you in prayer and I speak this into the lives of all those who belong to the Church-the body of Christ-that this may encourage your heart today.
Most gracious Father,
We admit we need You today, more than ever before. We need You to make Yourself known to us. May You, faithful Savior, who was weary and worn on our behalf, come alongside each of us in these tender moments, in these trying and perilous times that we live in. Give us Your strength, Your grace, Your energy, Your power and the push we need to keep going. May we remember You, Lord Jesus, who was beaten until You were unrecognizable (Isaiah 42:14), tasting death so that You could give us life. May You breathe the breath of life into our very bodies, a fresh wind of Your Holy Spirit, so that we can be renewed like the eagles (Isaiah 40:31). Holy Spirit breathe on each of us again, just as You did for the first time when You made us in Your image (Genesis 1:26, 2:7). Remind us dear Lord to not “grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.” (Galatians 6:9). Remind us that You, Lord, don’t grow weak or weary. You give power to the weak and strength to the powerless (Isaiah 40:28-29). Father, may You help us to breathe You in the more and breathe out anything in us that is taking the life, stealing energy or our joy from us. Help us to trust You Lord, that we may find new strength (Isaiah 40:31), strength to face this cruel world, strength to face our trials, strength to choose You this day in whatever we are facing. Renew us by the blood of Jesus again. Revive our hearts, our minds and our bodies, Lord. Help us to find the rest we so desperately need for our worn and weary souls in You and the finished work You completed on the cross for us.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Be encouraged dear brothers and sisters. The Lord never slumbers or sleeps. (Psalm 121:4). He is watching over you and He sees everything you are going through, even when/if no one else sees.
May we learn and move in the unforced rhythms of His grace when we become weary or worn. Jesus’ way of doing things is always the best!
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”~Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
