I have known a lot of wise people in my life.
However, when I have measured some of what I considered wisdom from these same people up against what God said about wisdom, they were no longer wise.
I quickly realized that God had a very different definition of what wisdom is supposed to look like.
Check it out below.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. ~James 3:17 NLT
And we all know that the beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7)
We cannot even begin to be considered wise unless we start there.
This week, as you meditate on this scripture, consider which aspect of this definition of wisdom God may be trying to develop in you.
Are you peace loving?
Are you gentle?
Have you been merciful?
Have you been sincere with others?
Let me know what God speaks to you!
