The type of faith you need

Anybody ever suffer from heartburn or indigestion? It's been said that one of the natural remedies for it is to have a teaspoon of mustard which helps to neutralize the acid in your stomach. I remembered this the other night when I woke up with horrible indigestion and it seemed to help. Standing there in my kitchen, with the refrigerator door open as my only source of light, I grabbed a teaspoon and proceeded to add some mustard to it and stick it in my mouth. For anyone who has experienced heartburn, you know how desperately you want relief from the uncomfortable feeling. After I digested some of it, I heard the Holy Spirit ever so gently tell me to turn over the bottle and look at the ingredients. As I was turning the bottle of mustard over to read the ingredients, I laughed out loud to myself. The third ingredient in my bottle of mustard was mustard seed. This may not seem funny at first, but come along on this ride as I hope to encourage you.

[Free resource] An invitation to intimacy with the King

This month's resource is special to me because it is an open invitation the Lord has been extending to me over and over again, especially this year, and it has made all the difference while I am waiting. It is the most important invitation we could ever accept and it is an open one. If you answered Yes to...

[Biblical Women’s History Month] A life well lived: Dorcas/Tabitha

I've been thinking about death a lot in the last year. Definitely not trying to be morbid, but it has definitely been on my mind heavily, but not in a scary or fearful kind of way. I am grateful the Lord has delivered me from this fear of death, but perhaps more than death, I have been really also thinking about how I live and if...

[Biblical Women’s History Month] Nothing except a flask of oil: An unnamed widow

Crisis has a way of affecting our vision. We need not look too far to see all the crisis that has affected our world on a global level just in the last year with COVID-19. And that's not even taking into account the personal crises you may have taking place right now in your own life. It’s so easy to focus on all we think we have lost, what we don't have or what we can’t do. We can easily miss what God may be trying to get us to see. Today, I want to challenge you to look again in the midst of the crisis you may be facing, and think about this question as we learn from a widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7.

[Biblical Women’s History Month] When what you’re carrying has to be released: Jochebed

What (or who God has called you to birth is special, beautiful and a part of God's plan. Do you know that? Knowing this truth, does that cause you to pause and consider how you are protecting what you are carrying? I certainly hope so. What lengths would you be willing to go to care for what God has allowed you to birth in this season? What about when He calls you to release it? How will you respond?
